The Johnson City Power Board, a public power distributor for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and owned by the City of Johnson City, has been serving the energy needs of Washington County and surrounding areas since 1945. To date, Johnson City Power Board provides electric service to approximately 74,000 customer metered locations.

Water & Sewer

Water and sewer services in Washington County are provided through either the City of Johnson City or the Town of Jonesborough, depending on your location.

Water & Sewer Services for the City of Johnson City treats 5 billion gallons of potable water and processes over 4 billion gallons of wastewater each year. Since 1989, the Department of Water & Sewer Services has received over a dozen awards at the local, state, regional, and national levels recognizing a commitment to excellence in operations and protection of the environment.
